2. EVERY WOMAN SHOULD HAVE A PURSE OF HER OWN
Brings comfort, hope and dignity to women and youth in crisis with the gift of purses filled with personal necessities.
Ninety (90!) purses filled with containers of body wash and body lotion, hats, make-up, gloves, manicure sets, sanitizer, scarves, tooth paste, tooth brushes etc. They are heading to Fill A Purse For A Sister Campaign, which brings comfort, hope and dignity to women and youth in crisis. What a worthy cause!

3. Rotary Virtual Wine Event
Rotary Club of Richmond Hill hosted its second virtual wine event! The event was very successful, with support from members of Rotary District 7010 and members of our club. It was especially nice to see families of our members coming out to support the club and enjoy some great local wines. Galina, our wine steward from Chateau des Charmes Winery, was knowledgeable and entertaining. It was a fun night!
Special thanks to Donita Hagborg for taking the lead in organizing this event. Donita, you did a great job!
4. WOMEN OF INSPIRATION AND LEADERSHIP AWARD
The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill is very happy to announce its 2nd annual Women of Inspiration & Leadership Award, or WILA. The award recognizes a woman who has contributed to the greater good of the Richmond Hill Community through her leadership, achievement, and example of distinction. She may have done so through her contribution to a corporation, government, not-for-profit, start-up, or service to the community.
Rotary Christmas Dinner event will be held at the Sheraton Parkway Hotel on Dec. 20, starting with the reception at 5:30 pm. The cost for this Dinner will be $75 per person, which will include a portion of this fee going to a local charity. There will be a cash bar, a phot0grapher for family photos, musical entertainment by Ron Mansfield, a live Auction, and some presentations. But most of all it will be a chance to socialize with one another for the first time since Dec. 2019.

Leah Denbok - Humanizing the homeless
a 17-year-old photographer from Collingwood, Ont. In the past three years, she's walked the streets in her province in Toronto, Barrie and Kitchener, as well as in New York City, capturing the lives of the homeless with her photos.
Many of the portraits will be featured in her upcoming book. Nowhere to Call Home — Photographs and Stories of the Homeless will be released in the fall, with all proceeds going to the Barrie Bayside Mission Centre.
