Rotary Minute- Dave T.

This year the Rotary Club of Thane Hills, RID 3140, India, is proud to have constructed 200 toilet blocks for 200 homes in village Sogav, Taluka Shahapur, district Thane, Maharashtra state. This will directly benefit 1000 men and women for life. As one of the villager’s pointed out- this project has also given dignity to women of Sogav village along with their safety.

Cam S.- thank you to all members who went to high school graduations to hand out awards. Cam read a letter from an award winner thanking the Club for our kindness and support.


Paul V.-a black serving spoon was left over from Turnover Night

Maureen K. presented a cheque for $4500 from the golf tourney profits that their son organized for their company. This will be put towards the Jean Do Fund and will make it reach its goal. Dave T. presented a certificate of appreciation to be given to their son and his company.

Special Speaker-introduced by Hiri- Anders on Beer Fest update

The event is July 17 at RH Performing Arts centre from 6:00 to 11:00pm. We reached our goal of 10 breweries participating with 30-40 different beers to try. 4 food vendors have been confirmed. If good weather- will be able to use the outdoor plaza. 4 live bands will also be taking part. Many are well known RH groups.
Need volunteers- a list was passed around. All tickets sales now should be profit to the Club. We have sold around 130 but want at least 400 there. It has been advertised in SNAPD. If anyone has Rotary banners or handouts please contribute to event. Arranging drive-home taxi services. Members are encouraged to spread the word on Facebook.
Jason mentioned the possibility of getting other Clubs to sell tickets.

Graham thanked Anders on behalf of the Club for his hard work and leadership to plan this event again.
