Meet Jean Do who lives in York Region. Jean is turning three years old and has recently been diagnosed with Type One Diabetes. Jean has been undergoing intense treatment to manage her condition but because of her young age, she is not aware when she becomes low hypoglycemic.  Hypoglycemia can happen suddenly.  If left untreated, hypoglycemia can cause confusion, clumsiness, or fainting. Severe hypoglycemia can lead to seizures, coma, and even death.

Jean is very young to experience a life threatening disease and requires to be alerted when she becomes low hypoglycemic. There are diabetic alert dogs that are trained to save the life of diabetics in her condition.  However because of Jean's young age, she would not be a candidate for a service dog from any of the usual resources for many years.

Jean is at risk now and cannot wait for a service dog.

The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill has pledged their financial support, and District 7070 has added another contribution, but more help is urgently needed.  Please help Rotary help Jean Do by making a donation TODAY. Your donations will enable Jean to get a diabetic alert service dog NOW. With your help, Jean will be accompanied by a four-legged friend everywhere she goes to ensure her safety and well being. Your donation will make a difference to this child's life and to her family.

Any contribution you can make to help this child get a service dog is very much appreciated.  And you can be assured that your donation will be managed by the Rotary Club and the funds will go directly to this worthy cause.

Donations of $100 or more will get a tax receipt.  Please be sure to fill in ALL information when making your donation.

Thank you in advance.
