On the 20th of June , 2009, Bhuvana Venkat took over as the 60th president of our club. The day started with pouring rain and  never stopped until the evening. The Committee and host Bill were wondering how they would manage and also were contemplating of postponing the event. As it turned out, the rain stopped. The event started and ended well.
The theme for the event was Socttish, keeping in tune with our RI president John Kenny's origin. Well, we needed some theme!..Bills garage was turned into a party room.Even though there was not much room for decorations, the Scottish colours Blue and white were displayed predominantly. Little notes on Scotland stuck all over were worth reading and some of them notably interesting.
There was plenty to eat and drink. Thanks to all members and their spouses. The committee that put all this together did an excellent job .Thanks Nash .
The MC -David Obadia , knows that he has another profession at hand! Welldone.
President Dan Johnston summerised the achievements of the last year and gave out Paul Harris Fellowship awards , he then inducted Bhuvana Venkat as the new president for the year 2009-10. Congratulations Bhuvana.
The new president Thanked a few Rotarians and then introduced the Board Members. In her first speech, she talked about the focus for the year would be Fellowship and Community awareness. She also requested all members should help  and support the Board and their committees in every possible way to enable htem to  fulfill their roles succesfully.
All children had fun with the magician and went home with gifts of books.
Last but not the least, A BIG Thankyou to Bill and Shelagh for opening their house to host this evening.
Thank you Bill Thank You Shelagh.
